What are the best fat burning tips to make weight loss enjoyable and sustainable? Should you eat low carb and do intense cardio every day? Or is it better to just eat healthier foods and do low-impact exercises? Is the Keto or Paleo diet better for melting off unwanted fat? What about crash diets? Do they work?
The information I’m going to share with you below, for the most part, goes against the grain of what the traditional health and fitness industry shows us in mainstream advertising. In some ways, it follows a lot of the teachings out there, but in other ways, it doesn’t. What I can tell you for sure is that what I’ll lay out below are the best fat burning tips I know of that are actually easy to follow, and sustainable in the long run.
I learned these things after discovering Kinobody, a company that teaches fitness and nutrition in a way that’s easy to digest and implement into your daily life. You can learn about the home bodyweight program that changed my life right here.
After having lost 15 pounds of pure fat, and dropping from a 32 to a 30-inch waist in only a matter of months, I realized that I’d been doing things wrong for years, and it was time to teach others how fat loss actually works.
Today, I clearly can see that the mainstream health & fitness industry is filled with so much misinformation. What this does is cause far too many motivated people to follow crappy advice from companies that promote quick fixes and the next best thing. The truth is, fat loss does require effort and discipline, but it’s also simple, and inexpensive. You can drop significant fat in a short period of time without having to spend a fortune.
I’ll explain how it all works below.
1 – Start Counting Calories & Stop Counting Carbs
I’m pretty sure Keto is on its way out sometime in the near future. But what I suspect will happen is that a new diet will make its way into the spotlight and replace keto as the next low-carb craze. Don’t you remember when Atkins was a thing? From my perspective, Keto is just Atkins wrapped up in a different package. The concept is exactly the same. Carbs are the devil!
The great thing is, you don’t have to sit around worrying about carbs anyway, so let’s not even get into all the low-carb mumbo jumbo. When I lost 15 pounds of fat in only a few months, it’s cause I let go of what I’d been doing for years. What was that exactly? It was living my life strictly following low-carb eating plans.
I thought that was the answer to fat loss. Nope. The answer to fat loss actually lies in something you may have heard before. And maybe, just like me, you didn’t understand what it meant.
Weight loss is a matter of eating fewer calories than you currently do. It’s that simple.
However, actually implementing this concept into your daily life is another story altogether. I’ve written a number of articles on this topic already, so I’d like to guide you to one that will explain step by step, how to calculate a calorie deficit for yourself in order to lose approximately 4 – 5 pounds monthly.
If you have more than 20 pounds to lose, you’ll lose more weight than that monthly because the deficit will be a bit more aggressive, which the article will explain as well.
But in short, you will lose weight when you pay attention to calories and let go of the idea that carbs are bad. You can eat pizza and ice cream and lose more weight following a calorie deficit than you would by eating a low-carb diet.
2- Eat Enough Protein Daily
While eating at a calorie deficit is crucial for weight loss, equally important is eating enough protein daily. This ensures that the weight that is coming off is in the form of fat and not muscle or bone density.
In order to calculate how much protein you should be eating per day, I follow this equation:
- Bodyweight x 0.8 = protein in grams daily
You may not need quite that much if you don’t do any kind of resistance training regularly, but that’s how much I take daily because my workout routine requires it for optimal performance and results.
Still, though, hitting that much protein daily will ensure that the weight coming off is indeed fat. This gives your body a nice and proportionate shape as you lose weight.
3 – Walk 10,000 Steps A Day
Did you know that walking 10,000 steps causes you to burn off approximately 400 – 500 calories? Click here to find out exactly how many calories you’ll burn walking this much daily.
Walking is a low-impact activity, so you don’t become ravenously hungry as you might when you do intense cardio workouts each day, such as Insanity by Beachbody.
I used to do Beachbody workouts religiously, and I’ve burned off more fat and kept it off by simply walking 10,000 steps per day. It’s been an absolute game-changer in my life, and if you get into the habit of walking daily, you’ll undoubtedly see amazing progress towards your fat loss goals.
4 – Equip Yourself With The Right Tools
It’s easy enough for me to tell you how simple it is to drop unwanted pounds and get into shape, but it’s far more doable and motivating when you have the right tools. When you have these at your disposal, fat loss becomes a lifestyle, and no longer a chase to lose weight.
The two tools that have completely been game changers for my own fat loss are as follows:
A food scale was something I avoided for years, but when I finally made the decision to start tracking calories properly, it is the most important little piece of equipment that I’ve ever owned. It’s less than $10 but it will change your life.
MyNetDiary is a phone application that makes tracking your calories and daily steps a breeze. You don’t have to think about all the foods you’re eating throughout the day. Just log them into the app. I use the free version of the app and it’s worked just fine for me.
That tutorial will teach you exactly how to use these tools together on a daily basis to make fat loss a very simple and enjoyable process.
5 – Make It A Lifestyle
These tips are far easier to follow than any diet I can think of. The reason for this is that you are allowed to eat what you want, without having to sacrifice your favorite foods.
Walking daily feels more doable and easy to maintain a habit of than heading to a sweat-drenching Orange Theory workout, at least in my own experience. I love walking daily and it’s very relaxing as I hit those 10,000 steps a day.
If you can follow these tips above for at least 21 days in a row, I believe you’ll be able to continue on for another 21 days, and then another 21 days. Before you know it, this will become a lifestyle and you’ll look and feel incredible.
This is how it worked for me, and I hope these tips have been helpful.
Fat Burning Tips In Summary
These are the best fat-burning tips that I can share because from my own experience, they simply work. They’re also far easier to follow than diving into any kind of fad diet, which in my experience, is tedious and unsustainable. Walking daily has proven to be more effective than any other intense cardio I ever did. It’s sort of the lazy man’s exercise, but it works phenomenally well for fat loss!
These tips are meant to give you a new perspective on how fat loss actually works, and I truly hope you implement these into your life, for at least 21 days and see how they can transform your physique in a very short time. I’ve helped several friends lose significant fat who also followed the exact tips above.
