If you’re looking for the best home fitness program for men then please read this article carefully cause it could very well change your life. And in all honesty, it’s just as beneficial to women but it has a predominantly male fan base. I’ve been excited to write this for a long time, and although I’ve shared various weight loss, fat burning, and calorie deficit tips on this site, I never actually disclosed the exact fitness program I follow…that is, until now.
I want to be very clear. No workout routine or eating plan I have EVER followed in my adult life has literally altered my body composition the way this program did. And I’ve done so many I’ve lost track. Ironically, I’ve been a fitness and nutrition junkie for years, but never achieved my desired definition & leanness. There was always extra fat on my chest, belly, and stomach that I couldn’t seem to burn off.
It was discouraging, cause I’d think to myself, why am I not making substantial progress when I work out 6 days a week and eat so incredibly well?
Then, I discovered this fitness program, and after 3 months of following it strictly, my mind was completely blown at the results I got, having lost 13 pounds, and stripped away 3% body fat. How on earth did that happen? The program felt way easier than any other fitness routine I ever followed, and rather than 6 days a week of intense workouts, it was only 3 days.
I know my body isn’t perfect and there is room to improve. But that’s not what’s important. What matters is that I am incredibly happy with the progress I’ve made. I’m happy that a program I followed FINALLY did exactly what it promised to do. I know you will see incredible results, regardless of what shape your in or how old you are. It will change your life if you follow it. This is by far the BEST investment I ever made for my self-confidence and fitness.
So, without further ado, this is the program I follow.
Movie Star Bodyweight Training Program
It’s called the Movie Star Bodyweight Training Program. It’s from the company Kinobody. There are lots of products and programs within Kinobody, but I personally followed the bodyweight program which you can do completely from home with almost no equipment. The company is run by a guy named Greg O’Gallagher, and, although I was skeptical at first, I now know without a doubt he knows exactly what he’s talking about.
I want to get something out of the way. Greg gets a lot of crap from people who think he’s a “douche bag”. When I sent a link of one of his videos to a friend of mine, she couldn’t’t even watch it, cause she thought he was an idiot and couldn’t stand his theatrical presentation. The video was called “The Real Bruce Wayne”, I guess cause he thinks he’s the real Batman? Well, guess what? This “idiot” is responsible for giving me a brand new confidence in my body and completely fresh perspective on what can be accomplished in your fitness life when you throw away old limiting beliefs.
- BRAD PITT TROY BODY
Here’s what I find very interesting about what Greg teaches, and this is true for all of his programs. What kind of body do you want to have? Greg says that guys don’t go to the gym to get super bulky and huge. You know those guys with no necks, that have disproportionate looking bodies? The problem, according to Greg, is they have too much fat on them too.
He says, most guys wanna have bodies that resemble Brad Pitt in Troy or Fight Club, or Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool. His programs focus on these kinds of bodies. Many guys dream of having those kinds of physiques, and the goal of this program is to help you get there, regardless of whether you’re overweight or underweight.
This program focuses on building the perfect amount of muscle while also stripping away fat so that your body transforms into an awe-inspiring physique. I have seen incredible transformations happen by many guys in the program that I’ve personally spoken to and it’s inspiring. I’ll explain more about that in the Facebook Community section below.
The Nutritional Aspect Of The Program
Without question, this is THE most important part of the program. It’s also the most fun, surprisingly. Before joining Movie Star Bodyweight, my entire eating life was so restrictive. I used to eat 5 to 6 small meals per day, and I always watched my carb intake, cause I thought too many carbs would add fat to my body. Ironically, I had way more jiggly parts when I was eating low carb. Now I eat pizza, burgers, fries, ice cream, and whatever I want, with WAY less jiggle.
I truly believe the nutritional part of the program is what makes it completely unique from anything else I’ve done before. You can seriously eat what you want, and it’s not like you’re allowed to eat fake versions of food like cauliflower pizzas. No, you can eat whatever the hell you want, as long as you follow the calorie deficit guidelines from the program.
I’ve written about calorie deficit so many times, I’ve lost track, but eating at a proper calorie deficit, combined with completing the bodyweight workouts in the program, will transform your body.
I’ll never forget the first night I decided to eat a chocolate bar before bed. First of all, I always thought you can’t eat right before bed! That’s bad! You’ll gain fat! And secondly, it was Kinder bar! That’s chocolate and sugar! But I did it, and I kept thinking, this is crazy. There’s no way I can eat this and get into shape. But I just trusted the program and did it.
I’m not gonna get into the details on how to eat, but it is incredibly important to watch your calorie intake, get sufficient protein in your body, and drink enough water every single day. It’s not hard. It’s not a diet. It’s fun, simple, and powerful. Everything is explained in incredible detail in the program.
The Bodyweight Workouts
The very first time I did a bodyweight workout from the program, I thought to myself, you’ve got to be kidding right? Is that it? And I only have to do this 3 days a week? There’s no way people are getting totally shredded with workouts that are this fun and simple to do while at the same time eating foods they love.
You’ll be doing a lot of variations of exercises like chin ups, pull ups, push-ups, squats, step ups,
I’d say about a month into the program, I was at the beach with friends. My best friend says, “okay, I want to do whatever you’re doing”. And I didn’t know what he was talking about. He says, “in all my years of knowing you, you always had man boobs, but you don’t have them now”.
Now, I attribute those results largely to the eating plan, but the actual workouts will start to shape your body in magical ways, because you’re losing fat from eating properly, and at the same time your body is starting to develop a very specific physique from the workouts you’re doing too.
These workouts are only 3 days a week. This is where a lot of fitness gurus and workout fanatics question the program. Greg believes we get better results when we train LESS often, as compared to other programs that force you to lift 5 days a week and do tons of cardio.
- WALKING DAILY
Oh, that’s another thing. Greg stresses that intense cardio actually can hurt progress more than help it. It often causes us to become ravenously hungry and overeat. So, the only cardio he suggests we do is walk. Since I started this program, I have not once done any other cardio again.
I only walk. It’s optional, but encouraged. You just complete 10,000 steps per day, and I’ve found ways to make it super simple and fun. It’s crazy, cause it feels like I’m not doing very much at all. But for optimal results, walking is a very important part of the program.
The Facebook Community
The Facebook community for the Movie Star Bodyweight Program was such a wonderfully pleasant surprise. It completely threw me off guard. I don’t mean to sound biased in any way, but the thing is, when you think of guys with perfect bodies, it’s very easy to feel insecure about your own. I certainly did when I joined the group. I was like, woah, how are these guys achieving results like that?!
But here’s why the group is so surprisingly wonderful. I have yet to meet someone in the group who isn’t cheering on everyone else. It is the most heartfelt community of like-minded people all trying to make progress in their fitness lives.
This community has helped me so much with questions I had. They helped me overcome nighttime eating. The people there helped me learn about proper supplements, confusion about the eating plan, body fat info, and how to overcome body insecurities.
Everyone in this group shows their vulnerabilities which makes me feel very much at home there. No one acts above anyone else. No one is there to compete with anyone else. Everyone is there to encourage you on your journey. They actually care, and it makes me feel very comfortable and like it’s an actual family. You get access to the group when you join the program, and I check in on it every single day.
I wasn’t expecting a Facebook community to be this incredibly powerful and helpful, but it is.
What Kind Of Progress Can You Make?
What kind of progress did I make? Because of this program, I dropped 13 pounds of pure body fat, and my body fat percentage went down by 3%. I’ve got to get new jeans soon, and I just realized, oh crap, I probably don’t even wear a 32 waist anymore. And a 32 waist isn’t overweight by any means. That leads to my next point.
I didn’t really think I had that much weight to lose. I’m 5″ 10, and I weighed 153 pounds when I started, and just last week, I weighed myself at 138 pounds. At this point, I’m trying to actually gain weight with the lean bulk protocol, which is part of this program.
Everyone’s idea of a great body is different. I realize that the progress I made is MY progress, and I’m absolutely happy with it. I don’t consider myself to have a perfect body, and I still have a ways to go. There are other guys in the program whose results are insane. Just google “Kinobody before and after” pics of the program and you’ll see for yourself.
I’ve seen other guys who went from 20 pounds overweight, to ridiculously awe-inspiring bodies that I simply can’t figure out how they did it. They obviously worked the program on a whole different level. I’ve seen guys that went from borderline obese, to Brad Pitt Troy body like magic. Of course, these guys also decided to follow the program multiple times.
As of this writing, I’m in my third round of the program. I’m trying to get more muscle now by increasing the intensity of my workouts. I’ve also added creatine into the mix, which I never did before. I’ve gained 2 pounds in the past month, so I’m not sure if it’s my increase in intensity of the training or the creatine or both. I went from 138 pounds to now around 140 lbs. At this point, I’ve learned the program well enough to be comfortable making slight adjustments here and there.
Life Changing Fitness
Without question, this is the best home fitness program for men that I have ever done. I think it’s just as effective for women and I have seen women in the Facebook group as well. But overall, it attracts more of a male fan base, and that could largely be because Greg does a lot of comparisons to guys like Brad Pitt, Ryan Reynolds, and other movie stars who have chiseled physiques.
I couldn’t actually start a website teaching people this stuff until I saw progress I was genuinely proud of in the mirror. But when I saw a serious change that I was personally happy with, I decided to go for it, and now, writing about health and fitness truly excites me, because I want to inspire to hit their own fitness goals.
I know how hard it can be. I know how discouraging it can be to try so many different programs and eating plans, and still not achieve the results you want.
I strongly encourage you to give this a try. The Movie Star Bodyweight Training program is a home workout and nutrition plan that will change your life if you let it.
I hope this article was helpful and if you have any questions or comments at all, please let me know. I know this program incredibly well, so anything that wasn’t answered, I’d be more than happy to get that information to you. Thank you so much for reading, I really appreciate you being here.
