Price: $4.99 per serving
Cheapest Place To Buy: EveryPlate.com
Meals Per Week: 3 – 5
My Rating: 9.5 out of 10
If you’re searching for honest Everyplate reviews you’ve come to the right place, as I’m going to explain my own experience with this company. I’ve ordered many meals from them, and overall, they’ve been great. I’m more of a fan of certain meals over others, but you have the ability to pick and choose.
If you’re looking for the convenience of preparing a freshly cooked homemade dinner at home without having to go out to the grocery store and search for all the individual ingredients, you really can’t go wrong with this company. They send you a box of meals every week, and you choose how many meals you want each week, depending on the size of your household. You can even choose to skip weeks, which I’ve personally done, cause I like to spread my meals out over time.
A huge focus of this blog is on health and nutrition, and while the Everyplate meals aren’t necessarily the healthiest in the world, you can easily find the calorie content of every single meal, which is the most important thing you need to know if your goal is to drop body fat and lose weight. Having that info makes it a breeze to include these meals into a diet plan, at least the way I teach it.
But nutrition and health aside, these meals are fun to make, and if you’ve got a creative edge, you’ll absolutely love it. I’ve tried Hello Fresh and Blue Apron as well, and the downside to those companies is really just the price. Everyplate is without question the most affordable meal kit that I’ve found.
Even with the many other meal kit companies popping up left and right, Everyplate still has the best deals, especially for brand new customers. I literally got my entire first week of food free, with no obligation to buy afterwards. I haven’t seen any other meal kit company offer something like that.
But, you’re probably more interested in the actual food, right? Or how the whole thing works? Well, I’ll do my best to explain everything I know about Everyplate and my experience with it.
Delicious New Meals Every Week
So, the food itself is simply delicious. Since I’ve been a member of EveryPlate, I’ve prepared so many delicious meals. Last night, I ate their soy glazed pork meatloaf recipe that includes roasted carrots and wasabi mashed potatoes. It was absolutely delicious.
You’ll never run out of new meals to try, because EveryPlate has so many options to choose from. So, when you get the email alert that your next order is going to be shipped to you soon, you can log into your account and see what they’ll be sending you.
If there’s a meal you’re not crazy about, you can easily swap it out for another without problem. I haven’t encountered a single meal I wasn’t excited to try though. Also, if you’re vegetarian, they have various meatless options to choose from.
Here are just some meals I’ve personally had with EveryPlate, and they were all delicious AND really fun to make. I really love being able to get creative with cooking, and having a recipe to follow, with all the ingredients already there.
Here are just some Everyplate meals I’ve eaten:
- Sweet n’ Tangy Cherry Meatballs
- Gooey Stuffed Pork Burgers
- Beef Banh Mi Bowl
- Apricot Pork Chops With A Kick
- Moo Shu Beef Bowls
- Sticky Sweet Chili Chicken
- Griddled Onion Burgers
- Tuscan Herbed Chicken Linguine
- Garlic-Rosemary Chicken
- and quite a few more
I’ve actually eaten quite a few more meals than these, but these are the ones I remembered off the top of my head as I scrolled through EveryPlate.com while writing this article. You can also Google any of these, and you’ll find beautiful pics of every one of these meals.
Whereas I’ve never been great with food presentation, I actually love the feeling I get from cooking one of these meals, and realizing that my plate actually looks comparable to the picture on their recipe card. I could serve this at a restaurant it looks so pretty!
There’s something awesome about knowing that you prepare these meals yourself. I feel that I’ve gotten better at cooking my own personal foods as a result of learning new creative ways to prepare various meats, carrots, potatoes, and even rice.
Cooking Is Incredibly Simple & Fun
Simplicity and ease is probably one of the biggest positives of ordering from EveryPlate. You choose your schedule and your meals, and you’re good to go. The food is shipped to you in a secure box that keeps all the ingredients cold.
I actually was out of town for 24 hours after an EveryPlate box had already arrived, and I was worried the food was gonna go bad. When I got home the next day, all the ingredients were still fresh and cold cause of the special ice packs they use to keep the foods secure inside the boxes.
CHOOSE YOUR PLAN
When you visit EveryPlate.com and create an account, you decide how many people you want food for. Is it 2 or 4? Do you want 3, 4, or 5 meals sent to you per week?
I chose the 2 people option with 3 meals per week sent to me. And even choosing this small plan, I was able to stretch this out for a few weeks easily. Every meal I made was enough food for 2 people. A few times, I split the food with my roommate, but other times, I just saved the second meal for the next day for myself.
So, with this deal, every box that arrives comes with all ingredients I need to make dinner. Since I choose the 3 meals a week option, I receive 3 different recipe cards in the box.
So, let’s say I want to make the Garlic Rosemary Chicken dinner tonight. I grab all the ingredients for that specific recipe – carrots, sweet potato, yukon gold potatoes, rosemary, red onion, chicken breasts, garlic, and chicken stock. I then follow all the instructions on the recipe card to cook the meal, and that’s it.
One thing I should mention is that the only ingredients EveryPlate does NOT send you are salt, pepper, oil, and butter. Not every meal requires all of these, but they assume you have those things available already.
You could literally have a fantastic home cooked dinner every night for a week without having to ever go to the grocery store. And depending on the size of your household, you just choose the option that works best for you.
COOL LITTLE BONUS
An added bonus that may or may not be that important to you, but I thought was pretty cool, is EveryPlate always seems to send some kind of gift in the box. The very first EveryPlate meal I got came with a Kinder bar. Holy crap, that is the most amazing chocolate I’ve ever had! I wouldn’t have ever tried Kinder had they not sent it along with the meals.
Other boxes I’ve gotten have come with huge discounts for wine, and even grooming products. You’ll find the surprise in a little extra envelope that comes with the box.
More Affordable Than The Rest
I thought to start this article off with the affordability of EveryPlate, because I think it’s one of the huge reasons I choose to use them over other companies. You just won’t find a better deal anywhere else for the food and service you’re getting.
Hello Fresh and Blue Apron both send out emails with these deals that sound fantastic, but when you do the math in your head, it doesn’t really amount to all that much of a deal. It’s really clever marketing of course and yeah, those companies are the pioneers of this whole meal kit system – I get that.
But I’ve calculated the numbers, and you just don’t get a better bang for your buck than you do with EveryPlate. You pay $4.99 per serving.
Now, let’s compare that price to other meal kit companies:
- EveryPlate – $4.99
- HomeChef – $8.99
- Hello Fresh – $9.99
- Blue Apron – $9.99
- Sun Basket – $11.99
Each of these competitors charges substantially more money for a very similar service. Plus, I’ve personally prepared and eaten many meals from both Hello Fresh and Blue Apron, and I don’t see a reason to go back to either of them.
One last thing here. I’ve got an awesome discount for you if you want to try EveryPlate for an even better deal than they already have.
Here’s a special code where you can try EveryPlate for $2.99 per meal and you’ll also receive 20% off your first two boxes.
If you run into any issues trying to get that discount, here’s the official code to use: Q6-4DFGE
I’m not sure how long they’ll run that special offer, so make sure to jump on it now if you’ve been planning to give EveryPlate a try.
Easy To Implement Into A Diet
Now, I can’t leave this article without stressing how easy it is to implement EveryPlate meals into a diet plan the way I teach on this website. If you want to drop body fat and lose weight, it’s just a matter of eating at a simple calorie deficit each day, and you can easily do this with EveryPlate meals because you can track calories of every single meal very easily.
What makes it so simple is that EveryPlate meals are already logged inside of MyNetDiary, the app I use to track my daily calories. So, let’s say you’re gonna eat the EveryPlate sweet n’ tangy meatballs tonight. All you’ve got to do is go into the MyNetDiary app on your phone, and type in “EveryPlate Sweet n’ tangy cherry meatballs” and the app automatically tracks that specific meal’s calories for you. It takes a minute out of your day and you’re on your way to your fitness goals.
Also, if you’re really health conscious, or like me, you don’t like to drench your food in tons of oils and butters, you can easily swap out some ingredients that add way too many calories to a meal. For instance, some meals will call for 2 tablespoons of oil.
I personally don’t want that much oil in my meal, and sometimes it’s literally for a sauce or a glaze. So, I just cut it in half to one tablespoon. The same goes for butter too. I often use lower calorie butter options, so you can easily cut out 100 or more calories per meal if you want to do that. This also applies to mayonnaise they’ll sometimes send you. I’ve got low calorie mayo at home. Just swap it out. I don’t always go that route, but you can absolutely do it if you want to, and the meals still taste fantastic.
EveryPlate Wins The Meal Kit Battle
The Everyplate reviews that I’ve read have all stressed one thing, and it’s that you can’t beat their price. If your issue with meal delivery services has anything to do with them being so expensive, then EveryPlate really is a no brainer.
But aside from the price of EveryPlate being fantastic, the actual service you receive is great. The meals are delicious, and if you love to cook and get creative with cooking, you just can’t go wrong with these recipes. The simplicity of using a service like this makes life so much easier. Also, if you’re on a diet, you can easily track calories of each meal in a matter of seconds.
I’ve noticed it’s almost like a relaxing part of my night when I get to cook these meals, cause I grab all the ingredients, and follow every instruction to a T. There’s just something fun and very focused about the whole process. And when it’s all over, you’ve got this delicious meal that you’ve prepared. And of course I take a picture of the meal and text it to my friends, cause I’m so impressed at what I created.
Do you have any experience with EveryPlate meals or any other meal kit delivery service? I’d love to know what your thoughts are and if there are possibly other companies out there that you’d suggest. I’m very open to trying other meal kits and I’m sure there are others I haven’t heard of that may very well be spectacular. If you have any questions or comments about EveryPlate or meal kits in general, please let me know and I’d be more than happy to answer them for you. Thanks!
