In this Kinobody program review I’ll be specifically discussing my results with bodyweight training, better known as the Kinobody Movie Star program. You’ll also find before and after photos from people who have gone through Kinobody programs themselves.
The Movie Star Body program is powerful, and has the ability to completely transform your physique, not to mention your life. In all my years being a health & fitness fanatic, I’ve never followed a workout & eating plan that completely blew my mind like Kinobody has.
I lost 15 pounds and dropped 3% body fat within a few months. But it seemed so easy. It almost didn’t make sense to me how that could just happen when I’ve done so many other workouts and eating plans that felt so much more tedious. I was so inspired by the results, that I started writing blog articles to help people.
To be honest, I don’t even know what I was expecting when I bought the program. I actually discovered Kinobody completely by accident. But it was one of the best accidents of my life. I was watching a training on how to rank YouTube videos during the pandemic. Within that training, the instructor showed a list of YouTube channels that successfully ranked their videos using smart SEO strategies, and “kinobody” was one of them.
What on earth is Kinobody? I did some research and soon became very intrigued, as I learned about unique eating habits and workout variations that are staples of all Kinobody programs. One thing that stood out over and over is “you can eat whatever you want!” I thought, yeah, a lot of programs say that. But Kinobody means it, as you’ll learn below.
I knew I wanted a home workout, cause that’s what I’ve been doing for years. I’ve gone through various cycles of Beachbody programs like P90X and Insanity among others. They are great programs, but even with 6 day a week workouts, I just never hit my fitness goals. I always had extra fat to lose, and never got the defined look I was aspiring to have…that is until I gave the Kinobody Movie Star Program a try.
I’m going to break down what I believe are the 5 most essential components of the program that make it so incredibly powerful. These 5 components are a strict recipe you must follow for success. You can’t do one without the other. They need to be implemented together, in order to get the results you want. Just google ‘kinobody before and after pics’. All those people got results from following what you’ll read below.
So, let’s get to the Kinobody Program review, shall we?

Your Daily Nutrition
This is, without question, the most important part of the program from the start. We’ll get to the workouts in the next section. But without the proper nutrition, the workouts won’t really do much for you. The idea is to get you to a point where you’re incredibly lean. How lean? Greg O’Gallagher, the founder of the program, wants you down to single-digit body fat percentage.
This is all possible because of the eating portion of the program, which focuses on having you eat at a 400 calorie daily deficit. This will cause you to lose approximately 4 – 5 pounds of pure body fat per month. I’ve written about this so many times I believe in it so strongly.
The 400 calorie deficit is a game-changer. Now, once you calculate your daily calories, it’s equally important that you eat the proper amount of protein for your weight. These calculations are all available when you purchase the program.
I shared this exact method with my own friends, who also saw incredible results. Kinobody makes eating so unbelievably simple and fun, which is part of the reason why my mind was blown at the end of 3 months. My body changed dramatically while I was eating foods I loved – the same foods I used to reserve for cheat days.
Yes, you can eat pizza, ice cream, hamburgers, fries, cake, and whatever else you want. I’ve never seen this kind of eating plan anywhere else. You see programs telling you that you can eat what you want, but there’s always some kind of restriction that makes it feel like a chore. The thing about Kinobody is the eating plan doesn’t feel restrictive at all.
- HOW I LOST 16 POUNDS & 3% BODY FAT FOLLOWING THE NUTRITION PLAN
Now, at first I honestly didn’t believe that would be possible for me. How on earth can we eat foods we love while at the same time drop body fat and weight? Body fat scales are known for being inaccurate, but I remember an old scale of mine telling me I was at 15% body fat.
So, when I saw that in the program that the goal is to get us to single-digit body fat, I just laughed and thought to myself, um, ok…I’ve tried, and I’ve tried and I’ve tried and I never got anywhere close to that. It’s hard to believe something is possible when you’re so far away from that goal in the first place. It’s especially hard to believe when you’ve done every workout under the sun and tried every eating plan known to man.
So, I bought a new body fat scale right before I started the program. I’m sure it’s still quite inaccurate. My guess is that it’s at least 2 – 3% off. But when I started the program, the scale said I was at 11% body fat. As of this writing, the scale says I’m at 7.7% .
I don’t know what my exact body fat percentage is, but I DO know that I’ve dropped more than 3% since I started Kinobody workouts. More importantly, I’m proud of the changes I see in the mirror.
I used to be incredibly self-conscious about man boobs. I had love handles I couldn’t figure out how to get rid of. These are no longer issues I dwell on. Because of Kinobody, I’ve gotten way leaner and defined than I’ve ever been in my life.
The bodyweight workouts are intense and incredibly fun. You do them only 3 days a week. I had no idea they’d be so effective in transforming your physique. These workouts include multiple variations of push-ups, pull-ups, chin-ups, hanging knee-ups, a variety of squat moves, and quite a bit more.
I still can’t do a one-armed push-up, but it’s okay, cause I’m doing a variation that I’ve worked up to. I also can’t do a one-armed pull-up yet, but I’m getting close.
There are multiple variations of each workout, so you can start at your comfort level. When I started the program, I was doing each workout in its most basic form.
These workouts get more intense gradually. There’s month 1, month 2, and month 3. Month 3 is what Greg calls the “shrinkwrap” effect. This is a skin tightening effect, which starts to happen in month 3 because the workouts become way more intense. But you’ve worked your way up to month three from the first 2 months.
- MY RESULTS FROM THE WORKOUTS
Right now, I’m going through the program a third time. This time around, I’m actually trying to GAIN weight. I’m 5″10, and when I began the program, I weighed 153 lbs. I dropped down to 137 lbs over the course of doing the program. It’s crazy to think I lost 16 pounds of fat. Based on my results, I was told to start doing a lean bulk by customer support.
So, I’m adding calories to my daily diet, according to the nutrition plan in the program, and also increasing the intensity of the workouts. I bought a weighted vest last week and began taking creatine daily in month 2 this round. I’m almost at 140 lbs these past few days, which I’m happy about.
When I look in the mirror sometimes, my head will spin. I don’t understand how my body transformed like this. My results aren’t jaw-dropping like other members of the program. I’ve seen some transformations that are simply awe-inspiring. But what matters to me is the change that happened to my body in only 3 months is much more obvious than any other program I’ve followed.

I may seriously consider diving into that when gyms open up again. There are various programs within Kinobody but I love the movie star program cause you can literally do it anywhere.
I did chin-ups on tree branches when I was out on a trip away from home. I was able to get my calf raises in on the edge of a toilet seat. And I was able to get L-Sit holds in using my grandma’s walker. As I said, you can do this anywhere and with minimal equipment.
Walking 10,000 Steps Daily
Another very important part of the program is walking daily. This was another game-changer in my life cause I always believed that the only way to burn fat effectively is by doing intense cardio workouts.
Interestingly enough, even when I’d complete 60 days of Shaun T’s Insanity, I didn’t get the same fat-burning results as I did by just walking 10,000 steps per day.
Greg stresses that when we overwork ourselves with intense cardio, that can cause us to become ravenously hungry and overeat. So, the only cardio he suggests we do is walk. It can mess with your head a little because we walk all around the house, to the mailbox, to the car, and wherever else. I get about 2,000 steps in a day without even trying, just cause I’ve got to go to the bathroom, kitchen, living room, etc…
All of those steps count. I use an app to track all my steps daily. When you walk 10,000 steps per day, you burn about 400 – 500 calories each time you do it. This is all calculated into the program, so one of the big reasons we see such a dramatic transformation happen to our bodies is because we implement this into our daily lives.
It takes about 90 minutes to walk 10,000 steps. During the summer, I love walking to the grocery store to get food, and run errands, and it’s very easy to get out of the way without really thinking too much about it.
My new method is saving me that hour and a half every day. I work from home. So, I bought a treadmill and attached a desk to it. I set the speed to 3 miles per hour, and I get a ton of work done, and before I know it, all my steps are out of the way for the day. I strongly suggest this method if you want to just get them out of the way while multi-tasking on your laptop.
The only downside to this is I really miss listening to music on my walks. So, I may break this up soon into two parts of my day. I just need to be getting fresh air and hearing new sounds. But anyway, this is an option.
Walking 10,000 steps a day will replace any other cardio you do. So, on this program, there is no other cardio that’s required. Those 400 – 500 extra calories burned per day make a major difference in your physique.
The beauty of walking though is that it just doesn’t really feel like work at all. It’s the laziest cardio I’ve ever done and I love it.
Intermittent fasting is a staple of the Kinobody programs. It’s incredibly powerful when the goal is to drop body fat while also gaining muscle. Because you have a period of the day without eating at all, your body gets to focus on fat burning.
You don’t HAVE to do intermittent fasting, as long as you follow your calorie needs per day. But if you want optimal results with the Kinobody program, you should absolutely do it.
The idea of intermittent fasting used to scare me. Just the word “fasting” freaked me out. But when you wrap your head around what it actually is, you come to realize how simple it is to do.
You literally just choose certain hours of your day that you don’t eat. I’m personally not eating for 16 hours per day. 8 of those hours are when I’m asleep. Greg simply suggests that you don’t eat for 4 – 6 hours after you wake up every day. It’s that simple.
HOW I INCORPORATE INTERMITTENT FASTING INTO MY DAILY LIFE
I make it fun! Or maybe eating is just fun now that I do intermittent fasting. It used to be a chore. But not anymore. I eat three meals a day. Right now I’m eating 2400 calories per day, and I break those calories up into three simple meals.

- MEAL #1 – 700 calories
- MEAL #2 – 1,000 calories
- MEAL #3 – 700 calories
It’s not always those exact numbers, but I’d say that’s what I aim for on a daily basis. I try to make my second meal a huge feast, as that’s my dinner. I’ll eat anything from steak and cheesy potatoes to air-fried chicken and pasta, and so many other foods. As long as I’m hitting my daily calories and protein, it’s really up to me what I eat.
Also, I like to eat meal #3 in bed. We’ve been told by the health and fitness industry not to eat before bed, right? Well, Kinobody says that it’s totally fine to do, because what really matters for fat loss is that we stay within our daily calorie budget.
And, as far as I can tell, I’ve gotten leaner and more defined eating midnight pizza and ice cream in bed than I did when I used to avoid eating 3 hours before sleep.
2 REASONS INTERMITTENT FASTING IS AWESOME
- The great thing about intermittent fasting for me is that I’m never hungry when I wake up anyway. I used to force myself to eat breakfast cause I thought that we’re SUPPOSED to eat breakfast right when we wake up. But now I can wake up and get to my day without having to think about food. I just drink coffee and that keeps my appetite away until I eat my first meal several hours later.
- I no longer have to waste time or think about preparing 5 to 6 small meals per day. I used to believe that was how we were supposed to eat for optimal fat loss. I was wrong. So, it’s a beautiful thing now that I save myself a ton of time in my day not having to think about what tiny little meals I’ll be making every few hours.
The Facebook Community
This was one of the most surprising and also one of the most important parts of purchasing the Kinobody Movie Star Program. The Facebook group is such an amazing community, and to be honest, I was insecure about saying a single word or asking any question within the group during my first few months.
But then, as I got a feel for the community, I came to realize that it was people just like myself. They’re just as vulnerable about their own progress. Some started their journey very much overweight, while others were underweight and trying to figure out how they should alter the program for their specific needs.
The Kinobody Facebook community is NOT filled with arrogant bros showing off their perfect bodies. But you WILL see a lot of posts from guys who are proud of their transformations, and rightly so.
It’s inspiring to see this kind of progress being made by so many different people at various ages and fitness levels. I remember when I shared my own transformation from my first 3 months and people cheered me on and gave me suggestions as to what I should do next.
The Facebook community is filled with emotional beings who truly care about seeing you make progress. I’ve had so many questions along this journey, and they’ve all been answered, helping me make educated decisions moving forward. I can’t stress enough how important the Facebook community is to the program.
Kinobody Will Transform You
I hope this Kinobody Program review was helpful. I just realized looking at the word count that this is the longest article I’ve ever written. It makes sense though. This program is the reason I write about health and fitness now. It’s the reason I have a newfound confidence with my body, which also lends itself to many other areas of my life.
I love helping people learn how simple it can be to burn fat, get lean, and hit their fitness goals. I was interested in writing health and fitness articles years ago. But I never did, because I realized I can’t help people unless I can help myself first. And then Kinobody happened.
I still think it’s funny that I discovered Kinobody completely by accident, but I’m so glad I did.
