Can You Coolsculpt At Home? Try This Alternative

Can you coolsculpt at home?  Well, yes, sort of…I mean, I don’t think the results you can get from home fat freezing will be nearly as fast as the results you’ll get from going to a professional session.  But, doing this allows you to try coolsculpting at home, or at least something similar, without costing you a fortune.

You’re pretty much freezing your fat cells whether you went to a physical session, or did it at home.  From my understanding, you get faster results going to a professional, because the amount of work done on your body in such a short time simply can’t happen at home.

BUT, if you have the patience, doing this at home can get you results.  It’s crazy to think about how many different products I’ve personally purchased over the years to try and burn body fat.  I’m incredibly grateful for things I learned in 2020 though, which has completely changed the way I think about burning fat and getting lean.

Anyway, I bought the Isavera Fat Freezing System from Amazon.  I discovered it when I did my own search to find out if you could do coolscultping at home.  Actually, looking at them now, it’s nice to see their product has over 3000 reviews.  When I purchased it, they had just under 100.  I’m glad the company is doing well, mainly because their customer service truly was awesome, and I could tell that the owner genuinely was passionate about the product.

Now I’m no expert in the world of coolsculpting, but I CAN at least explain my own experience with this particular product and method since I do own it.

I’ll do my best in this article to answer your question and give details as to what you can expect the experience to be like.

Also, I took screenshots of questions people asked about this product in hopes that the answers they received can help you better understand.  If you scroll to the bottom of this article, you’ll find them.

You wrap Ice Around Your Belly

That heading just looks weird, but really, I don’t know how else to word it.  When I ordered this product, it came with a stretchy velcro belt (which I now use to add weights to when doing chin-ups).  It also came with 3 specially formulated gel packs that you put into your freezer for 24 hours before first use.

I actually had a question about these gel packs, because they look similar to any other ice pack you might have in the freezer.  Well, the company told me that these are specially formulated for burning fat, and they are NOT the same as a regular ice pack.  Apparently, this is due to the temperatures these gel packs reach that traditional ice packs do not.  The science behind it states that, within a specific temperature range, fat cell apoptosis can be triggered

In fact, these gel packs are specifically designed to bring subcutaneous fat to an ideal temperature range.  Side note – I have a scale that, on top of measuring body fat and weight, also gives you a subcutaneous fat reading.  it is one of the best purchases I made to keep me accountable for my fitness goals.  You can learn about that here if you’d like.

So, once these gel packs have been in the freezer for over 24 hours, you place them into the belt, and then wrap it around your midsection (or wherever on your body you want to burn fat).  There are two gel packs that cover the sides of your waist (love handles), and another gel pack that covers the front area.  You’d arrange these differently if you wanted to burn fat from another part of your body.

Apparently, this product can be used for tummy, thighs, arms, muffin top, and more.

60 Minutes A Day – 3 Days A Week

I actually wore it 5 days a week for about 45 minutes each time.  These gel packs get extremely cold, but because there’s a layer covering the inside of the belt from actually touching your skin, you won’t get any kind of ice burn.

They tell you to do this for 10 to 12 weeks.  Many people who use it seem to see results after 3 to 12 weeks.

Massage The Target Area

After you’ve worn it for the full 60 minutes of time, you take the belt off and massage the area you just treated.  For me, it was my midsection.  They send you this interesting little massager.  It actually felt really weird to massage my stomach area each time I finished one of these sessions.

You’re supposed to apply a lotion to your target area and then massage with the handheld massage tool they send you.  The company says by doing this for 2 to 3 minutes after your session, it can help speed up your success.

The Difference In The Mirror

Now, I don’t know if my eyes were playing tricks on me or what, but each time I’d use this fat freezing contraption, I saw a difference in the mirror.  It seemed like I didn’t notice as much extra fat in areas that I normally would.  But I’m not sure if that was attributed to the fact that after you wear something this cold for a full hour, your body will change shape slightly.

I’m no scientist on this.  According to the company, the gel packs are designed to target fat in stubborn areas.  I guess my complaint was never that I was overweight, but that I had extra fat to lose in stubborn areas, which is why I bought these.

I’ve noticed that many people stress the importance of eating right and living a healthy lifestyle, which I always have.  So, I believe that if I did see actual results from this product, much of the changes I saw happening could very well have been attributed to diet.

I really should have used their body fat caliper that they send along with the product to have tested before and after results, but I didn’t.  I just started using it right away after it came in the mail.

Home Coolsculpting Is Worth A Try

The reason you can get away with far fewer sessions at professional coolsculpting appointments is because those sessions add much colder temperatures to your body.  You cannot achieve temperatures so low at home.  But can you coolsculpt at home ?  Not exactly the same as you can at an office, but if you’re willing to spend more time and less money, I think home coolsculpting is worth a try.

I wish I could give a more solid answer here and say, definitely do it!  I believe I saw a difference in the mirror when I used it.  However, I never really had all that much fat to lose.  I was trying to lose stubborn fat.  I feel that I saw my shape change a bit each time I used it but never actually measured before and after.  I DID use it for several months until I went on a vacation, and I wasn’t going to take this with me.

If you’re serious about losing body fat, I’ve learned that success comes simply from eating correctly.  What this means is making sure you’re taking in the right calories and protein your body needs.

I hope this article was helpful and if you’ve ever tried coolscultping yourself, I’d LOVE to hear your experience with it.  I don’t know a whole lot about the process of the before and afters people expereince from it.  If you have any comments on that or any questions at all, please leave them below.  Thank you for reading!

As promised, here are some questions and answers I found on Amazon regarding the Isavera Fat Freezing System that I own.

  1. Hello, I didn’t hear before about cool sculpting at home, and reading your article I learn a lot of things about it, and how sufficient it is in losing belly fat. It seems a good product to use and proved one by you and many other users. Up to now, I’ve used the exercise and eating in a healthy way to take my belly fat under control. This product seems helpful to burn fat, but in any case, I think that we must be consistent and using the product regularly and in the right way to get the results that we want to have in loosing and burning fat.

Thank you for sharing this product  review with us

    1. Hi Alketa thank you for the comment – yeah, coolsculpting from what I understand isn’t a fat burning over time kind of thing.  It’s supposed to do it pretty quickly over a few sessions.  But it’s really expensive, into the thousands of dollars.  However, I think a lot of people do it as an alternative to liposuction, cause there is no surgery involved.  That said, this product is meant to sort of mimic coolsculpting over time.  So it’s not really a replacement but I think people can really see significant results if they’re patient over time using it – as you said, using a product regularly or having any kind of routine that we follow regularly is the secret to finding success.
