I’m going to share with you the best home workout program I’ve ever come across in my life. When you finally find something that actually turns you into a fat-burning muscle-building machine, you want to share it with anyone and everyone who will listen. I became inspired to write articles after I lost 15 pounds and dropped 3% body fat in just a few short months. And my results don’t even compare to other transformations from people who follow this workout. This program is magical for many reasons, but I think why thousands of people are getting insane results is its simplicity.
The health & fitness industry is saturated with so many programs and supplements, it makes my head spin. I see ridiculous promises being made all the time, and it really frustrates me, because I’ve worked my butt off throughout my life trying to find out what legitimately works for fat loss and building lean muscle.
Now, I also believe that if you have the right mindset and dedication, there are many programs that can work for you, whatever your fitness goals are. One of the reasons this program works so incredibly well, in my opinion, is that it goes against the conventions of what the mainstream health & fitness industry teaches.
You won’t find any crazy dieting or 6 days a week of intense lifting here. You won’t even find cardio, in the traditional sense at least. How is this possible then?
I’m going to explain it all in this article. The best home workout program I know of is called Movie Star Body. Greg O’ Gallagher is the founder of Kinobody and he’s helped thousands of people hit their fitness goals over the years. This workout plan is the perfect combination of exercise & nutrition, and the goal is to help you transform your body in only 3 months.

Movie Star Body Workout Program
The workouts in the Movie Star Bodyweight Program are all calisthenics bodyweight movements that can be done from home. The only equipment you need is a chin-up bar, and honestly, if you don’t have one of those, you can get creative. But I strongly suggest investing in one. I’ve personally done some of the workouts on tree branches when I was at my parents’ beach house in Michigan.
Sure, people look at you curiously when they walk by, but there’s something really bad ass about finding just the right tree in nature to be able to get your sternum chin-ups in. Other weird ways I’ve altered workouts include using toilet seats and armchairs to name a few.
The point is, you can do these workouts anywhere. They are 3 days a week, and I complete them on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Each workout takes about 45 minutes to complete.
- MUSCLES TARGETED
The bodyweight exercises target all your major muscle groups including biceps, triceps, chest, upper back, lower back, traps, quads, hamstrings, calves, and more. As mentioned earlier, minimal equipment is needed but a chin-up bar is strongly suggested. I’ve also found that resistance bands can be very helpful for certain workouts.
- WORKOUTS YOU’LL FIND IN THE PROGRAM
The workouts themselves are unique versions of traditional exercises. And if for any reason you feel bodyweight workouts alone aren’t powerful enough to completely transform your body, I strongly suggest checking out the before and after pics in the program. In my third round, I bought a weighted vest to really increase the intensity.
The workouts target specific muscle groups in your body and they do an amazing job at shaping your physique. There are multiple variations of each exercise. So, if you can’t do a one-armed pull-up, it’s no problem. Just start with the simplest version and work your way up.
You’ll find variations of one-arm push-ups, triangle push-ups, side to side push-ups, one arm chin ups, sternum chin-ups, pull-ups, handstand push-ups, biceps curls (and alternatives), shrugs, pistol squats, jump squats, Bulgarian squats, hip thrusts, calf raises, side to side hanging knee-ups, hanging leg raises, L-sits, lateral raises, neck workouts, and more.
- HOW YOUR BODY WILL CHANGE
Greg often stresses that most guys want to have the Brad Pitt Fight Club look. We are not aspiring to look like the oversized & disproportionate gym rat dude who has no neck. So, he’s strategically developed these workouts to proportionately shape our bodies into what most guys envision when they’re trying to get into shape.
These workouts are incredibly intense and powerful. I still can’t do a one-armed chin-up or one-armed push-up but I’m getting really close. I’ve worked my way up to certain variations of these exercises and that’s perfectly fine.
The Nutrition Plan
This is without question, the most important element of the program. It’s what keeps everything else together, and results come to those who take this seriously. If your goal is to gain lean muscle while dropping body fat, then the nutrition protocol must be followed to a T.
The beauty is that this is the simplest nutrition plan I’ve ever followed. Whenever I see diets advertised, I want to scream at the top of my lungs to tell people they don’t have to restrict their eating to lose weight and get into shape. But the mainstream fitness industry is far more powerful than one little guy writing an article, so the world will just keep on going as it is.
What I absolutely love about the nutrition aspect of the program is I can eat whatever I want. I truly believe it’s one of the reasons this program works so well. To do this program is to throw out everything you knew about dieting. There is no diet in Movie Star Body. You can eat pizza, french fries, ice cream, and cookies.
You follow a very simple calorie deficit plan and make sure to get enough protein in your day, and you’re good to go. This is incredibly powerful because it allows you to strip fat away from your body while you build muscle at the same time.
The Laziest Cardio On Earth
This one really blew my mind, and it was hard at first to believe that just walking 10,000 steps a day was going to have serious fat-burning benefits. I used to go to kickboxing classes and follow Shaun T’s Insanity programs, among many others. Since I began this program, I haven’t done any other cardio.
The Movie Star Bodyweight Program taught me that all you need to do is walk to get the fat-burning results you want. I never would have believed it in the past, but when you walk 10,000 steps, you burn approximately 400 – 500 calories. Every step you take in your day counts. When you walk to the kitchen or to the mailbox, you’re getting steps in.
I find that without even trying, I get about 1500 – 2000 steps in a day anyway. I now walk to the grocery store rather than drive. In really cold weather, I’ll take an extra-long stroll through the grocery store. I’ve even found a way to kill two birds with one stone, by getting a treadmill desk. I walk while working on my laptop, and before I know it, I’ve gotten 7,000 steps in.
Greg stresses that when we follow really intense cardio programs, it’s much easier to overeat. Walking eliminates that altogether, and getting 10,000 steps in a day sets us up for optimal fat loss. I break my steps up throughout the day to keep things exciting.
The Facebook Community Is Gold
This may have become one of the most important pieces of the Movie Star Body program to me. It’s how I keep myself accountable for my own progress and it’s how I find answers to important questions I have, whether I ask them myself or they’re already answered in the group.
At first, I was really shy to post anything in the group. I just watched what other people said while hanging out quietly in the background. I was insecure about my own body from all the transformations I saw happening to others. I’ve had a soft undefined body for years, and these other guys were getting rock star results.
But that insecurity soon turned into inspiration. It’s a regular thing to see people show their before and after pics, and your jaw will just drop when you see how much their physiques changed in only 3 months.
But the beauty of the group goes far beyond vanity. In fact, I soon realized that these before and after pics were not just about showing off. They were about showing others what’s possible when you follow this simple program to a T. Everyone in the group is incredibly supportive and empathetic. If you’re feeling stuck or down about any particular situation you’re having, someone will help you.
There’s a guy in the group recently who I saw struggling. It’s clear to me and many other members of the group why. He’s altering the program and workouts in his own way that he thinks is better. He’s only partially following the eating plan while making little adjustments that he sees fit.
He makes posts trying to figure out why he’s not making progress like thousands of other guys are in the group. Other members are helping him realize where he needs to make changes. The issue was mostly due to the fact that he’s jumping around and not staying focused on exactly what the program teaches. That’s an easy fix and he realized where he needed to make a change.

Get Serious Results With This Home Workout
Movie Star Body is hands down the best home workout program I’ve ever done. Nothing I’ve tried compares to it. My results below don’t compare to others in the program who have jaw-dropping transformations, but that’s okay. Everyone’s on their own journey. We all have different bodies and we have to embrace that. What matters is that I made more progress with this program alone than a handful of others combined. And I’m happy with how far I’ve come thus far.
