I’ve written a few entries recently listing various weight loss motivational quotes, and today felt appropriate to add some more. We all need inspiration on our journeys to improve our physiques and hit our fitness goals, whatever those may be.
Oftentimes, on our paths to better ourselves, we don’t feel the support of people around us like we’d hoped. So, what better place to find encouragement than in words? Sometimes, they’re powerful enough to fuel us forward through our days.
So, here they are. I’ve searched the web and found another 10 quotes that resonated with me. I hope you find motivation within them as well. They’re listed below in no particular order.
1 – EVEN IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, PRETEND YOU DO, AND AT SOME POINT YOU WILL
This is one of the hardest things to actually do, but it is important. When starting our fitness journeys, it may seem like such a terrifying road ahead. But you’ve got to remember that everyone starts in a completely different place than where they end up.
Keep your eye on the prize, and just continue moving forward. Go through the motions even if you don’t feel you deserve it. I know that feeling. What am I trying to do here? I’m nothing compared to the next guy. How on earth am I going to get results like him? I don’t believe I can get there.
Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. Move forward with your own weight loss plan. Know that in one week you’ll feel different. In a month, you’ll see changes. In 3 months, people will be asking you what you did.
2 – IT’S NOT ABOUT LOSING THE WEIGHT. IT’S ABOUT LOSING THE MINDSET & LIFESTYLE THAT GOT YOU THERE
This couldn’t be any closer to the truth. It really isn’t about the weight loss as much as it is about the gunk in our heads that keep us on the other side of our fitness dreams.
If you’re embarking on a journey to lose weight, mindset is everything. I’ve found that waking up and listening to inspirational audios on YouTube help a ton.
3 – THE HARD DAYS ARE WHAT MAKE YOU STRONGER
Every day is different. Some days I get overly critical of myself and realize I’m not anywhere close to some of the other guys I see that I’d aspire to look like physically. Just remember it’s only a moment and only a thought. These thoughts don’t serve us. We’ve got to let them go and move on.
There are days I really don’t want to work out, but I do it anyway, because I know it’s helping me reach my own fitness goals. The hardest days will pass and you’ll be stronger because of them.
4 – IT’S GOING TO BE A JOURNEY. IT’S NOT A SPRINT TO GET INTO SHAPE
There are so many searches on the internet of people trying to lose weight overnight, or super quick. This mentality is exactly what Quote #2 above is about. The idea that this is a sprint will set you up for failure.
Anything worth having in this life takes time. It’s a journey. And the sooner we can accept that and appreciate the path of ups and downs, the more gratitude we will feel for all the progress we’ve made at the end of our journey. And truthfully, I don’t believe the journey of health and wellness ever ends.
5 – YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE IN YOURSELF WHEN NO ONE ELSE DOES
No one really believed in me when I set off on a new fitness journey to get a lean and defined physique that I never had before. After having gone through so many eating plans and workout programs without making significant progress, my own friends dismissed the new journey, and in truth, I kept it mostly a secret, until they started asking questions.
You have to believe in yourself. This weight loss journey is for you and no one else. They will believe in you eventually, but in the beginning, you’re going to have to just believe in yourself.
6 – MAKE IT HAPPEN. SHOCK EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM
This might be my favorite quote on the list. Maybe it’s cause it’s exactly what happened after I completed a 3-month fat blasting workout program. And the funny thing is, when you read a quote like this, it’s EXACTLY how it happens.
My best friend decided to drop all his weight loss efforts and just follow whatever I teach. Other friends have jumped into the same program just by seeing my results.
I promise you that if you can just stick to your journey, and make it happen for yourself, the feeling that goes along with shocking everyone else with your results is wonderful. And only you know how much work went into it. You’re the one that made it happen for yourself.
7 – ONLY I CAN CHANGE MY LIFE. NO ONE ELSE CAN DO IT FOR ME
I’ve spent too much time blaming others for my own mistakes. But the day I realized I am where I am because of my own decisions, everything changed. I took control and moved forward through the world with a different mindset.
Always remember no one is responsible for where you’re at in your life right now. Once we accept that truth, it’s easy to take the first step to achieve our fitness goals.
8 – WEIGHT LOSS IS LIKE DRIVING. IF YOU EVER VEER OFF THE ROAD, JUST MAKE A U-TURN AND HEAD BACK IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION
It’s never a straight path, ever ever ever ever ever. You WILL make mistakes on your journey, and that’s okay. I used to beat myself up for waking up in the middle of the night and grabbing something out of the fridge to eat. It happens far less often now. But instead of beat myself up, I just accept that it’s a mistake. Tomorrow I’ll head back in the right direction.
Don’t beat yourself up for mistakes on your journey. They happen because you’ve made the decision to embark on a brave weight loss quest. Just keep going, and always remember you can make a U-Turn at any time when you make a mistake. It’ll happen, and it’s okay.
9 – YESTERDAY YOU SAID TOMORROW
This quote from Nike put a smile on my face. The point of this quote is to remind us we need to just do it. Get started. Right now. We have to stop making the “tomorrow” excuse. It’s far too popular and you are far too motivated to get lost in the possibility of doing things. We should eliminate tomorrow, next week, next month, next year. All this waiting gets us nowhere.
Just get up and do it now and you’ll feel amazing.
10 – GET FIT IN THE GYM. LOSE WEIGHT IN THE KITCHEN
I like this quote cause it’s a reminder that weight loss is a direct result of the foods we consume. We shape our bodies into specific physiques with the work we put into the gym or home workouts that we do.
